JC3 Journey to Zero Conference 2026: Advancing Climate and Nature Resilience Through Collective Action
15 Sep 2026
Conference to bring together policymakers, financial institutions, investors and businesses to focus on capital deployment, bankable projects and real economy resilience
KUALA LUMPUR, 15 SEPTEMBER – As Malaysia advances its journey towards a sustainable and resilient economy, the Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) invites financial institutions, businesses, policymakers, investors, project developers, sustainability practitioners and academia to participate in the JC3 Journey to Zero Conference 2026 which will be held at Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur, from 28 – 29 September 2026.
Themed ‘Building Climate and Nature Resilience for People and Business’, the Conference will serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders across the public and private sectors to advance Malaysia's climate and nature resilience agenda. Against a backdrop of increasing climate and nature-related risks, discussions will focus on practical pathways to mobilise capital, scale bankable solutions and strengthen resilience across the real economy.
Key discussion areas include:
Navigating Sustainable Growth in a Changing Global Landscape
The global operating environment is evolving rapidly, shaped by climate change, technological developments and geopolitical shifts. Discussions will examine how Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region can find synergies, seize emerging opportunities and support sustainable economic growth amid increasing uncertainty.
Accelerating Energy Transition Through Sustainable Finance
Achieving Malaysia's energy transition ambitions will require mobilisation of capital at the scale and speed needed to accelerate deployment of renewable energy, supporting infrastructure and innovative technologies. Participants will explore the role of the financial sector in enabling investment, facilitating project development and scaling financing solutions that support the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Sessions will highlight practical experiences in bridging funding gaps, improving project bankability and translating innovation into commercially viable investment opportunities, from the perspectives of both the project owner and financier.
Building Climate Resilience Through Adaptation and Risk Management
As physical climate risks continue to affect businesses, communities and economic activities, adaptation has become an increasingly important area of focus.
Dialogues will examine approaches to strengthening resilience through adaptation finance, climate risk assessment and improved risk management practices. The Conference will also explore the role of data, analytics and disclosures in supporting informed decision-making and enhancing preparedness against climate-related shocks.
Advancing Nature-Positive Development and Financing Solutions
Nature plays a critical role in supporting economic productivity, livelihoods and long-term resilience. As awareness of nature-related dependencies and risks increases, stakeholders are also recognising the opportunities associated with nature-positive investments.
The Conference will explore emerging approaches to integrating nature considerations into financial and business decision-making, including discussions on nature-based solutions, the blue economy, carbon markets and mechanisms to mobilise capital towards positive environmental outcomes.
