About Data Catalogue
Data Catalogue contains critical data needed by the financial sector to support pre-identified use cases, and includes data that are available, partially available, and unavailable, as well as observations on data gaps.
Data Catalogue serves as a source of reference on climate and environmental data for the financial sector and represents a call to action for stakeholders to collectively improve the availability and accessibility of climate data.

Data Catalogue is compiled by the JC3 Sub-Committee on Bridging Data Gaps, focusing on key data needed by the financial sector. Modelled after the NGFS approach, it prioritises Malaysian climate and environmental data, while also incorporating global data as complementary sources. Contributions are provided by JC3 members on a best-effort basis and may not capture newly available data between updates; users are advised to assess the suitability of the information for their specific needs.

This exploratory mapping exercise aligns GHG emissions from IPCC Guideline to MSIC sectoral classification, bridging the data gaps through the attribution of national GHG emissions to economic activities.
A collaborative report by the JC3 SC5, the Climate Data Catalogue (2022) maps available and missing climate data for Malaysia’s financial sector, supporting risk management and the transition to a low-carbon economy while highlighting key data gaps and the need for coordinated action.
