The policy framework seeks to reduce emissions from the transportation sector, which currently ranks as the second-largest CO2 emitter in the nation after the energy sector, contributing 25% to 30% of the nation’s GHG emissions with predominantly internal combustion engines (ICE) vehicles on the road. The blueprint deploys a policy framework to mainstream the shift towards electrification in the transportation industry as a key strategy to diminish our emissions and contribute towards the achievement of our national Paris Agreement GHG target.
